Ekaterine Gelovani

Ekaterine Gelovani was born in 1957 in Tbilisi. From 1978 to 1983 she studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, where she received a degree as an artist-painter-teacher. Ekaterine Gelovani works in the medium of painting. Her works are preserved in the National Bank of Georgia, in private collections in Cologne and Moscow. The artist participated in the competition under the auspices of the UN World Food Program (II Prize). Ekaterine Gelovani lives and works in Tbilisi.

"For me, drawing is a way of interacting with other people. I like long conversations. In these conversations, a new idea is born. Drawing is a continuation of this process for me - a process of reasoning, thinking, thinking. It originates from artistic impulses, which form a lively, emotional thinking.

The self-portrait series "Dialogue" is a kind of attempt to enter into a dialogue not only with another person, but also with yourself.

Dialogue with yourself - a difficult, dangerous journey when you lose and find, straightening your eyes to questions you avoid, but they still come back in different forms, in form, in body.

The series "Night Games" for me is primarily a study of the night energy field, when objects and events are hypertrophied and create a special atmosphere. I love to search for endless means of color, shape, line and play with them.

I believe that the irreversible rhythm of life is important for an artist, they must discover something new in themselves and experience what is born and created today. "
